September 9, 2013

Dear Mom,
I've been transferred again.  I am serving in Tarlac (where the mission office is). I now have a Filipino Driver's License.  I've been driving a bit... Driving here is nuts. There are basically no traffic laws, haha.  To put it simply, "Living life on the edge."

I have been working on lots of reports and transfers, dropping people off, picking people up, things like that. This is transfer week so it's a little hectic for us. I go on lots of exchanges.

My companion, Elder Dadizon, and I have been put in charge of getting an area up and running to where we can work and bring others in. Because of the other responsibilities we have, this has been difficult, but we were able to have one and a half hours of proselyting this week which felt so good!  We found a family though, which was so great. I really appreciated the time we had with them and now, I recognize it more fully as the Lord's time.

I know that we need Our Savior. He only has the capacity to be a part of our lives with the time that we give to Him through prayer, meaningful scripture study, and going to church.  I would like to add my testimony to yours mom, that we need Him.

In a meeting that we had with President Martino, he said something that has really stuck with me that goes along the lines of what you said. He said, "When you understand exact obedience, you will experience more freedom than you ever have before".   I know this is true because I lived it and asked, and tried it myself.

I know this church is true with every fiber of my being. I'll shout it in any capacity that the Lord sees fit to give to me. He lives, He loves us, and guides us today in His restored church.

Love,
Elder Blackham
